A standing SI desk with an approval queue

A Hermes Desk stays on for routine drafts, puts them in a queue, and waits. A person approves anything that would send, pay, order, or post.

Worth knowing: This describes the Hermes Desk model. It is not a report of a client result. Named Desk prices are on the pricing page. Windows is an extra charge and is quoted separately.

The problem

Single tasks still start from a blank chat. You want a standing helper that already knows the folders, the tone, and the rules, and that does not get the keys to send, pay, order, or post.

What SI does

The desk is a Hermes install on a computer you control. ChatGPT and Claude are examples; 300+ models are available. It drafts the routine jobs you named (a reply, a summary, a checklist) into a queue instead of finishing them itself. Each item shows the draft, the source it used, and which written rule applied. Handoff rules say what a person must approve and what should stop for a human with no draft. A short log lists what was drafted and what was approved, rejected, or edited. The desk does not send, pay, order, or post.

Examples

The same job looks different in different businesses. These are illustrations, not client results.

  • Owner-operated service business

Overnight inquiries are drafted into a morning queue. The owner approves, edits, or rejects each one, and the log shows which were sent.

  • Small online store

Routine order-status drafts wait in the queue. Anything about a refund is handed to the owner with the order attached and no draft that promises money.

  • Professional office

A weekly packet of drafted follow-ups sits in the queue. The person who owns the client relationship sends them, and rejected drafts stay in the log.

What it takes to set up

A Mac you control. Windows is available as an extra charge and is quoted separately. You name the first jobs, the folders and accounts it may read, and the actions it must not take. Named desks are Starter, Operator, and Connected. Prices and what each one includes are on the pricing page. You pay your own model and app bills. Setup follows the desk you pick.

What a human still checks

  • A person approves every item in the queue before it goes out or changes a record.
  • The desk cannot send, pay, order, or post on its own.
  • Rules and the log are reviewed so a bad draft is caught and the rule is tightened.

Try it yourself

Paste this into your SI tool of choice and swap the [bracketed] parts for your own details. It asks SI to stop and show you before it does anything.

Copy-ready prompt
You are a standing desk for [business]. You may read [folders and accounts]. You may draft [named jobs] into a queue. For each draft, show the source you used and the rule that applied. Do not send, pay, order, post, or change records. If a request is about [money, complaints, or anything outside the rules], stop and hand it to me with no finished action. Keep a log of drafts and what I approved, edited, or rejected. Pause and show me before sending, submitting, posting, or changing anything.
