Product-feed and catalog error checks before ads go live
SI compares your store catalog with the shopping or marketplace feed and lists errors that would block or mis-price an item, without changing the feed.
Worth knowing: Channel rules change. The check uses the export and the rules you give it, not a promise that ads will be approved.
The problem
Shopping ads and marketplace catalogs reject items for missing identifiers, broken images, or a price that does not match the store. Those errors sit in a dashboard until someone has time to read them, and the listing or ad never runs. Writing new product descriptions is a different job. This one is the error list.
What SI does
SI reads the feed or error export and the store catalog. It lists items with missing or invalid identifiers (GTIN, MPN, brand), image URLs that fail, price or availability that does not match the store, and titles or descriptions that exceed the channel's limits. It does not guess identifiers or rewrite copy to paper over a claim.
Examples
The same job looks different in different businesses. These are illustrations, not client results.
- Shopify store with a shopping feed
Twenty SKUs fail on a missing GTIN, and five have a feed price that does not match the product page.
- Beauty brand with a social catalog
Several items have an image URL that no longer loads after a file rename. SI lists those handles.
- Home-goods seller
Titles over the marketplace character limit are listed with the current length, not rewritten.
What it takes to set up
A feed export or channel diagnostics export, and a catalog export. A note on which channel's rules you are checking. Setup is often a few days.
What a human still checks
- A person decides what to fix in the store or the feed.
- Missing identifiers stay blank unless you provide them; SI does not invent barcodes.
- Price and availability changes are made in the store by a person.
Try it yourself
Paste this into your SI tool of choice and swap the [bracketed] parts for your own details. It asks SI to stop and show you before it does anything.
Compare this feed or error export [file] with the store catalog [file], matching on [SKU]. List items with missing or invalid GTIN, MPN, or brand, image URLs that fail, price or availability that does not match the store, and titles over [character limit]. Do not invent identifiers. Do not change the feed. Pause and show me before sending, submitting, posting, or changing anything.
