Tutoring session notes and parent progress summaries
After a session, SI (Super Intelligence, the new name for AI) turns the tutor's notes into a short parent summary in a consistent format, and the tutor approves it.
Worth knowing: Progress summaries are drafts. SI does not assess or place a student.
The problem
Tutors jot what was practiced and rarely have time to write a clear parent update. Families hear little until there is a problem.
What SI does
SI takes the tutor's notes and drafts a short summary of what was practiced, what to review, and what is next. It uses only what the tutor wrote. It keeps a running record the tutor can see. It flags notes that sound like a concern for the tutor to handle in person.
Examples
The same job looks different in different businesses. These are examples, not client results.
- Independent math tutor
A two-line note on fractions practice becomes a parent summary. It uses the next-session focus the tutor already wrote.
- Writing tutor
Session notes become a short update on the essay stage the student is in. No grade is invented.
- School-based tutoring hour
The draft stays in the tutor's queue. The school decides whether the family receives it through the usual parent channel.
What it takes to set up
GemmiSI sets this up on your own equipment and accounts; your data stays with you. The school reviews each tool before it holds student records. Check the vendor's terms, access controls, and any FERPA or state student-privacy duties. Start with sample or de-identified material. Use a simple notes form or voice-memo path. Use the tutor's summary template. Permission is to draft, not to send. Setup is often a day or two.
What a human still checks
- A person approves anything sent to a student or parent.
- The tutor reviews each draft.
- Concerns are handled by the tutor, not by a template.
- SI never sends, posts, or changes a record on its own.
- Notes about minors stay on the tutor's or school's own accounts.
Try it yourself
Paste this into your SI tool. Swap the [bracketed] parts for your own details. It asks SI to stop and show you before it does anything.
Turn these tutor notes [paste] into a short parent summary using this template [paste]: what was practiced, what to review, and what is next. Use only facts the tutor wrote. Flag notes that sound like a concern for the tutor to handle in person. Pause and show me before sending, posting or changing anything. Use only the sample or de-identified information I provide; do not include real student names, grades, or family contact details.
