One view of revenue across every place you take money
SI combines sales from each channel, location or payment system into one sheet or dashboard that updates on a schedule.
The problem
Money comes in through a point-of-sale system, online payments, invoices and maybe a marketplace or two. Each has its own report, and none of them agree on the total.
What SI does
SI pulls sales from each source, maps them to common categories (location, product or service line, channel), removes double-counting such as an invoice also recorded as a card payment, and keeps one table and a simple dashboard current. It notes where sources disagree.
Examples
The same job looks different in different businesses. These are illustrations, not client results.
- Brewery with a taproom
Taproom sales, distributor invoices and online merchandise sales appear together by week and by product.
- Music lessons studio
Lesson payments, recital ticket sales and instrument rentals are combined, with family accounts paid by both card and check de-duplicated.
- Retailer with an online store
In-store sales, online orders and a marketplace channel are combined by product category so slow lines are visible across all three.
What it takes to set up
Read access or regular exports from each source and an agreed set of categories. Setup is often one to two weeks.
What a human still checks
- Totals are checked against the accounting system each month.
- Category mapping is reviewed by the owner.
- Discrepancies are reported, not quietly adjusted.
Try it yourself
Paste this into your SI tool of choice and swap the [bracketed] parts for your own details. It asks SI to stop and show you before it does anything.
Combine sales from these sources [exports or connections] for [period]. Map each to these categories [location, line, channel]. Remove double-counted payments by matching [invoice number, amount and date]. Build one table and a simple chart by [week]. List any discrepancies between sources. Pause and show me before sending, submitting, posting or changing anything.
