A weekly watch on competitors' prices and offers
Once a week SI checks the competitor pages you choose and sends a short summary of changed prices, services, offers or openings.
The problem
Owners know competitors matter but rarely have time to check their sites. Price changes and new offers are noticed months later, usually from a customer.
What SI does
SI visits a fixed list of public competitor pages (pricing, menus, service lists, promotions, job postings) and compares them with last week's snapshot. It records changes in a sheet and sends a short summary of what is new, with links.
Examples
The same job looks different in different businesses. These are illustrations, not client results.
- Dental practice
Two nearby practices started advertising new-patient whitening offers, and one now lists evening hours.
- Moving company
A competitor's posted rates for local moves went up, and another added a storage service.
- Independent bookstore
Event calendars of nearby shops and libraries are tracked so author events do not clash.
What it takes to set up
A list of competitors and pages to watch. Setup is often a day or two.
What a human still checks
- SI only reads public pages and respects site terms.
- Pricing decisions remain with the owner.
- The watch list is reviewed every few months.
Try it yourself
Paste this into your SI tool of choice and swap the [bracketed] parts for your own details. It asks SI to stop and show you before it does anything.
Every [week], check these public pages [list of URLs] and compare them with last week's version. Record changes in prices, services, offers, hours and job postings in [sheet]. Send me a short summary with links. Pause and show me before sending, submitting, posting or changing anything.
